"If we can share our story with someone who responds with empathy and understanding, shame can't survive."
Brene' Brown
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker specializing in the treatment of both Impaired Professionals (Physicians, Attorneys, Business Women/Men, Nurses, Pharmacists, Therapists) and Women in the areas of Childhood Trauma, PTSD, Codependence, Betrayal, Infidelity, Depression, Anxiety, Grief, Alcohol/Drug Addiction, Sexual Anorexia, Sexual Addiction, Love Addiction and Love Avoidance.

I began my 25 year career working at The Meadows Treatment Center in Wickenburg, AZ learning Pia Mellody’s Model of Developmental Immaturity. In
addition, I spent part of my time at The Meadows as the Assistant Director of Sexual Disorder Services under the direction of Patrick J. Carnes, Ph.D. Thus, I am a Certified Sexual Addiction Therapist and Multiple Addiction Therapist through the International Institute of Trauma and Addiction Professionals. I am also trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and a Certified Grief Recovery Therapist.

I have presented at both the Kansas Physician’s and Lawyer Advocacy Conferences, Kansas City EMDR and Chemical Dependency Council Conferences, Two Rivers Behavioral Health Preferred Provider Conference, Faith-Based Communities and 12-Step Communities on the following topics: Codependence (Developmental Immaturity), Healthy vs. Toxic Shame, Traumatic Bonding, Creating Healthy Boundary Systems, Using a 12-Step Model to treat Adult Survivors of Childhood Trauma, Couples Communication, Sexual Addiction, Co-Sexual Addiction, and the Grief Recovery Process.

During college I began my own journey of Healing and Recovery when I attended family week for a loved one. I know first-hand the heart break, fear, loneliness, shame and pain of being in a relationship with an addicted family member.
Gratefully, I also know the healing, joy, and internal peace of facing my own “truth”, grieving my losses, setting boundaries and reclaiming myself by committing to a program of recovery!

My passion is to aid clients in reconnecting to themselves, grieving and healing their past, teach coping skills to live in the present and gain hope for creating the future of their choice. I truly believe everyone holds their own answers inside their heart. We all need guidance from others who have traveled this journey before us and daily connection with others on the same path. Safety and confidentiality are of utmost importance to me in providing you the ability to reconnect with yourself and heal. You will find my therapeutic approach to be kind, collaborative, results oriented and empowering.
