I am currently an LPC Intern working toward my Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Texas A&M University-Commerce (TAMU-C). I earned my Bachelor of Science from TAMU-C in Political Science and Mathematics over 20 years ago and spent the last 20 years teaching high school mathematics, home schooling my four children, running a birth and wedding photography business, and learning first-hand what it means to heal traumas and wounds that keep us trapped in isolating, painful, or destructive patterns and beliefs. 

Harville Hendrix wrote: “We are born in relationship, we are wounded in relationship, and we can be healed in relationship.” I heartily agree, and therefore my approach to counseling is largely based upon my belief in the healing power of relationship, both with self and with others. My therapeutic approach is also centered around a deep respect for each client, taking into consideration the historical context of current issues while integrating techniques from cognitive, emotion-focused, and experiential therapies as necessary. My areas of clinical interest are trauma, complex PTSD, betrayal trauma, addiction, enmeshment, sexuality, grief, depression, anxiety, and infidelity recovery for individuals and couples. 

I am a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist Candidate through IITAP (International Institute of Trauma and Addiction Professionals) and an APSATS (The Association of Partners of Sex Addicts Trauma Specialists) Trainee, utilizing the Multi-dimensional Partner Trauma Model (MPTM).
